Job summary

Ignition Driver Recruitment is seeking a reliable Transport Shift Manager in Bellshill to oversee all scheduled transport activity, lead driver briefings and ensure on-time performance and service levels. The role requires experience in high-volume transport and a focus on customer service, with CPC qualification and hands-on leadership.

You will manage relationships with suppliers and internal teams, monitor KPIs, uphold health and safety standards, and adapt to demand peaks.

Qualifications

• Must have Driver CPC and experience in transport, warehousing, and logistics.
• Demonstrated shift manager or team leader experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and industry software such as Kronos or Oracle.
• Up-to-date knowledge of drivers hours and the Working Time Directive.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all scheduled transport activity and ensure on-time delivery.
• Lead daily driver briefings and debriefings for employed, subcontractors and agency staff.
• Monitor driver performance using data and reports; drive KPI improvements.
• Ensure compliance with transport operations and Operating Licence standards.
• Maintain health and safety standards across the site and manage absence/performance issues.
• Investigate incidents and propose follow-up actions.
• Collaborate with Sort Centre and other teams to improve efficiency.

Job Title:Transport Shift Manager

Location:Bellshill

Remuneration:£30,231 to £36,703 p/a DoE

Shifts:Monday to Friday (14:00 - 22:30)

Ignition Driver Recruitment are looking for a reliable, experiencedTransport Shift Managertojoin our team and play a vital role in keeping the supply chain moving. This is an exciting opportunity for someone to join our clients Home Delivery Network and as an experienced leader, your experience, drive and determination will be utilised well within this challenging and rewarding role.

To be considered for this role, you will be an experiencedTransport Manager or Shift Manager with a strong focus on customer service. You must have previous experience in a high-volume transport and warehouse environment.

Transport Team Manager - What You'll Do:

• Oversee and deliver all scheduled transport activity, ensuring on-time performance and service levels are met
• Lead daily driver briefings and debriefings (employed, subcontractors, and agency)
• Monitor and improve driver performance using operational data and reporting tools
• Track and respond to national and local KPIs, implementing corrective action where needed
• Ensure legal compliance with all transport operations and uphold Operating Licence standards
• Promote and maintain high standards of health and safety across the site
• Proactively manage absence, performance, and other employee relations matters, escalating when necessary
• Investigate transport and on-site incidents thoroughly and propose follow-up actions
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal teams
• Collaborate closely with the Sort Centre team to streamline operations and improve efficiency
• Contribute to site-wide and business-wide projects
• Maintain positive and professional relationships with trade union representatives
• Manage yard operations, ensuring smooth trailer movements and timely bay availability
• Adapt quickly to demand changes during peak periods and special events
• Act as deputy for the Shift Manager when requiredThis is a really varied role, and it requires someone who can think on their feet, and problem solve quickly.

About you - what you need:

• Youmusthave your driver CPC.
• Previous experience working within Transport, Warehousing and Logistics
• You will have demonstrable shift manager/team leader experience
• You will need to have PC skills and be able to use Microsoft Office as well as industry related software (Kronos, Oracle etc)
• You must have up-to-date knowledge of drivers hours and the WTD
• You must be a UK resident to be considered for this opportunity. We are unable to assist with VISA applications and cannot assist with relocation.
