Maintenance Electrician

We’re seeking a Maintenance Electrician to assist with daily electrical maintenance tasks, both in the field and in the workshop, on a shift basis. This hands-on role emphasizes safety, adherence to procedures, and maintaining operational efficiency. You will be part of a team responsible for electrical systems, ensuring all work is performed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. If you are reliable, safety-conscious, and possess a solid understanding of electrical work, we encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities
  1. Follow all safety procedures, systems, and policies, including permit-to-work and risk assessments.
  2. Carry out plant isolations and issue permits if authorized.
  3. Maintain a clean and safe work environment after completing tasks.
  4. Perform troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance on equipment such as motors, transformers, switchgear, breakers, and lighting.
  5. Conduct regular inspections, calibrations, and data collection to identify equipment issues early.
  6. Support root cause analysis and contribute to corrective actions.
  7. Use maintenance software to create work requests and update equipment history.
  8. Coordinate repairs and inspections with other departments.
  9. Ensure smooth shift handovers and complete shift reports.
  10. Participate in training to enhance skills and undertake additional tasks as required.
Requirements
  • HND or equivalent education.
  • Experience as a Time-served Electrical Technician or similar.
  • Minimum of 5-6 years of demonstrable experience in a manufacturing environment with heavy machinery.
  • Electrical Regulation 17th Edition (preferable).
  • Thorough knowledge of electrical maintenance activities including HV, LV, motor control circuits, automation, and instrumentation.
  • Understanding of safety requirements and procedures.
  • Experience with maintenance methods, tools, and systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and process control drawings.
  • Willingness to embrace change and pursue continuous improvement.
