Job summary

Kier Group seeks a Team Leader Mechanical Technician to join the Velindre Cancer Centre team in Wales. You will lead the engineering shift, coordinate planned and reactive maintenance, and ensure safe operation of mechanical building services supporting clinical care.

Based at Velindre, you will use your qualification and experience to guide the team, interpret drawings, and maintain high standards of reliability while minimising disruption to patient services.

Qualifications

• Recognised mechanical qualification such as City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3, apprenticeship or equivalent.
• Experience in mechanical maintenance within a complex or regulated environment.
• Strong understanding of mechanical building services systems and controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead the engineering shift, coordinating planned, reactive and emergency maintenance.
• Undertake planned preventative maintenance and repairs across mechanical systems.
• Diagnose faults using technical knowledge and safe working practices.
• Maintain water systems compliance including monitoring and Legionella controls.
• Provide clear shift handovers and liaise with clinical teams and stakeholders.
