Job summary

Orwell Housing Association is recruiting a Shift Leader for Beaumont House in Walton-on-the-Naze to lead the care team and ensure high-quality, person-centred care for older adults in Extra Care housing.

You'll work a 3-week rolling rota, averaging 4 days per week, with a 38-hour contract and an annual salary of £26,268.09. You will build strong relationships with customers, families and health professionals while supporting safe medication practices.

• Knowledge of CQC Fundamental Standards and person-centred care.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.

Working Pattern

This role is based on a 3-week rolling rota, working an average of 4 days per week. Contracted hours will be made up of:

• 2 x 7-hour shifts
• 2 x 12-hour shifts

At Beaumont House, our Extra Care service supports older people to live independently with dignity, choice and confidence. We're looking for a passionate Shift Leader to inspire and support our care team while helping us deliver outstanding, person-centred care.

What You'll Do:

Working alongside the Team Leaders and Service Manager, you will:

• Lead, motivate and support the care team during shifts.
• Assist with rota planning and day-to-day service operations.
• Champion high-quality, person-centred care and best practice.
• Build positive relationships with customers, families and healthcare professionals.
• Complete medication audits, competency assessments and care observations.
• Support safe medication ordering, collection and administration.
• Help create a warm, welcoming and homely environment for customers.

About You

You'll have:

• Experience supporting older and vulnerable adults in a care setting.
• Knowledge of end-of-life care and person-centred support.
• Understanding of CQC Fundamental Standards.
• Strong communication, organisation and leadership skills.
• A genuine passion for supporting people and developing others.

Person Specification...

• Level 2 in Health and Social care or above
• Supervisory qualification or commitment to achieve within 18 - 24 months.
