Job summary

Orwell Housing Association in Walton-on-the-Naze is seeking Relief Care Assistants to support residents at Beaumont House. This role involves weekend and night shifts, providing essential care and companionship in a home-like setting.

Duties include personal care, medication administration, housekeeping, helping with meals, and enabling activities to keep tenants happy and independent.

You will join a responsive care team and must be eligible to work in the UK; an Enhanced DBS check is required.

We are looking for Relief Care Assistants to provide essential support during weekends and night shifts in our amazing Extra Care service.

As an Orwell Care Assistant, you will enable our customers to maintain their dignity and independence and lead fulfilling lives. You’ll play a vital role in the lives of our tenants, supporting them with everything they need to do to live well. You will work mostly alone in someone’s home but will be part of a great care team for the benefit and wellbeing of all the tenants who live at the service.

In caring for our customers, your main duties will include:

• providing personal care
• administration and storage of medication
• housekeeping
• supporting people through temporary or terminal illness
• helping with eating and drinking
• light domestic duties such as bed making
• support with social, physical activities and mental stimulation such as hobbies and recreation
