Encirc Elton Cheshire is seeking a time-served Mechanical Engineering Technician (Shift Fitter) to join a busy 24/7 manufacturing site. You’ll ensure plant and equipment run safely and reliably, tackling breakdowns, conducting planned maintenance and fault-finding mechanical issues on process machinery.
You will read mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic drawings, perform welding and bench-fitting, and support CI with root-cause analysis, with out-of-hours support as required.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll be responsible for keeping our plant and equipment running safely and reliably.
You’ll tackle breakdowns, carry out planned maintenance, fault-find mechanical issues and make sure problems are Fixed 4 Life
Carry out reactive and planned mechanical maintenance.
Fault-find and repair equipment to component level.
Work on gearboxes, conveyors, valves and process machinery.
Read mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic drawings.
Welding, bench fitting and mechanical repairs.
Support continuous improvement and root cause problem-solving.
Respond to engineering issues during out-of-hours production.
Time-served Mechanical Engineering qualification
Manufacturing maintenance experience, ideally in a 24/7 environment.
Strong mechanical fault-finding skills.
Experience with conveyors, gearboxes and process machinery.
Ability to work independently and make decisions under pressure.
Good communication skills and a "Fix 4 Life" mindset.
HNC/HND, electrical skills, SAP/CMMS experience and RCA/Kaizen knowledge would be a bonus.
