Job summary

Mitie is seeking a Shift Engineer - Electrical to support planned and reactive maintenance within Alder Hey Children's Hospital in Liverpool. You will ensure statutory compliance, operational reliability, and high-quality service in a healthcare setting.

The role involves diagnosing faults, performing safe electrical repairs, and maintaining documentation in CAFM/PDA systems, with emphasis on health and safety, RAMS, and Mitie LiveSafe standards.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds 2360 Parts 2 & 3 or equivalent electrical qualification.
• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or completion of a recognised electrical apprenticeship.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification.
• City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing qualification (or equivalent).
• Healthcare or hospital environment experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive electrical maintenance in line with contractual and statutory requirements.
• Diagnose faults, perform repairs, and undertake safe isolations across electrical systems and building services.
• Accurately record maintenance activities, compliance documentation, and work completion using CAFM/PDA systems.
• Ensure all works comply with Health & Safety legislation, RAMS, QHSE standards, and Mitie LiveSafe procedures.
• Collaborate with the estates team to maintain asset performance and support operational continuity in the facility.

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive electrical maintenance in accordance with contractual and statutory requirements.
• Diagnose faults, perform repairs, and undertake safe isolations across electrical systems and associated building services.
• Accurately record maintenance activities, compliance documentation, and work completion using CAFM/PDA systems.
• Ensure all works are completed in line with Health & Safety legislation, RAMS, QHSE standards, and Mitie's LiveSafe procedures.
• Work collaboratively with the wider estates team to maintain asset performance and support operational continuity within the healthcare facility.

Required Qualifications

• City & Guilds 2360 Parts 2 & 3 (or equivalent Electrical qualification).
• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or completion of a recognised electrical apprenticeship.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification.
• City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing qualification (or equivalent).
• Previous experience within a building services maintenance environment; healthcare or hospital experience is advantageous.
