Job summary

Catering in Knowsley is seeking a multiskilled Shift Maintenance Engineer to maintain, repair and improve the site’s manufacturing and packaging equipment. The role covers reactive and preventive maintenance, changeovers and trials across a modern, expanding facility.

You will work a two-day/two-night shift pattern with 7 days on, 7 off style schedule, and be responsible for downtime reductions, HSE compliance and plant reliability, with an electrical bias and PLC experience desirable.

Qualifications

• Electrical bias preferred but not essential.
• Food or beverage industry experience.
• Good communication and collaborative skills.
• NVQ 3 or ONC or HNC required or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Maintain manufacturing and packaging machinery (e.g., fillers, conveyors, labeling, packaging).
• Reactive and preventive maintenance, changeovers and trials.

• Salary £53,000 + pension + 20 days holiday + bonus + overtime

The Job:

• Maintain manufacturing and process machinery such as; filling machinery, conveyors, high speed materials processing machines, sensors / switches, pneumatics, PLCs, bearings, pumps, wrappers, palletizers, labellers, packaging machinery, steam systems.
• Reactive and preventive maintenance, changeovers, trials.
• Contribute to downtime improvements, HSE.

The Person:

• Electrical bias preferred but not essential. NVQ 3 or ONC or HNC
• Food or beverage industry experience
• Good communication, stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills important.
• Suitable backgrounds can include (but not limited to) manufacturing plant experience eg food, beverage, liquid filling, packaging, FMCG, automated warehousing, stackers, sorters / sortation, robotics, sensors, scanners, PLCs, Siemens, TIA, labellers, printing, canning, glass, plastics, pharmaceutical.
