Job summary

DS Smith is seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join our engineering team. This hands-on role focuses on keeping the manufacturing operation safe, reliable and efficient.

Working 4 on 4 off shift rotation, you will perform planned preventative maintenance, electrical fault finding and repairs, while supporting the broader engineering team with mechanical tasks to minimise downtime and improve equipment reliability.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in electrical maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to diagnose faults and carry out repairs on site equipment safely.
• Experience supporting mechanical maintenance tasks within a multi-skilled team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out electrical fault finding, diagnostics and repairs on site machinery.
• Support mechanical maintenance and breakdown activities within a multi-skilled team.
• Perform planned preventive maintenance and respond to reactive issues promptly.
• Identify recurring faults and contribute to root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
• Work safely following procedures, risk assessments and legislation.
• Maintain records of maintenance activities in CMMS and with colleagues.

DS Smith is looking for an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join our engineering team. This is a hands-on role where you'll play an important part in keeping our manufacturing operation running safely, reliably and efficiently.

Working 4 on 4 off shift rotation, you'll be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance, electrical fault finding and repairs, while also supporting the wider engineering team with mechanical breakdowns. Responding quickly and effectively to electrical and mechanical breakdowns to minimise production downtime.

• Carrying out electrical fault finding, diagnostics and repairs across site machinery and equipment.
• Supporting mechanical maintenance and breakdown activities as part of a multi-skilled engineering team.
• Completing planned preventative and reactive maintenance activities to a high standard.
• Identifying recurring faults and contributing to root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
• Working safely in line with company procedures, risk assessments and relevant legislation.
• Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities through the site's maintenance management systems.
• Working closely with Production and Engineering colleagues to improve equipment reliability and minimise downtime.
• Supporting engineering improvement projects and equipment upgrades where required.
• Maintaining high standards of housekeeping, safety and quality within the engineering environment.
