Job summary

DS Smith Europe is seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join our engineering team on a 37.5 hour week (days). The role focuses on maintaining our manufacturing operation safely, reliably and efficiently.

You will perform planned preventive maintenance, electrical fault finding and repairs, and assist with mechanical breakdowns as part of a multi-skilled team. Strong safety awareness and documentation are essential.

Qualifications

• Electrical background with hands-on maintenance in manufacturing.
• Qualification in electrical engineering as NVQ3/City & Guilds or equivalent.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic abilities on site machinery.

Responsibilities

• Respond to electrical and mechanical breakdowns to minimise downtime.
• Fault-find, diagnose, and repair site machinery and equipment.
• Support mechanical maintenance and breakdowns within a multi-skilled team.
• Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance to high standards.
• Identify recurring faults and contribute to root cause analysis.
• Work safely according to procedures, risk assessments and law.
• Keep accurate records of maintenance activities in CMMS.
• Collaborate with Production and Engineering to improve reliability.
• Support engineering improvement projects and equipment upgrades.
