Job summary

DS Smith Plc is seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join our engineering team. This hands-on role focuses on keeping our manufacturing operation running safely, reliably, and efficiently.

You'll work a 4 on 4 off shift, perform planned preventative maintenance, electrical fault finding, and repairs, and support mechanical maintenance within a multi-skilled team. Maintain records and drive continuous improvement to ensure safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Responding quickly and effectively to electrical and mechanical breakdowns to minimise production downtime.
• Carrying out electrical fault finding, diagnostics and repairs across site machinery and equipment.
• Supporting mechanical maintenance and breakdown activities as part of a multi‑skilled engineering team.
• Completing planned preventative and reactive maintenance activities to a high standard.
• Identifying recurring faults and contributing to root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
• Working safely in line with company procedures, risk assessments and relevant legislation.
• Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities through the site’s maintenance management systems.
• Working closely with Production and Engineering colleagues to improve equipment reliability and minimise downtime.
• Supporting engineering improvement projects and equipment upgrades where required.
• Maintaining high standards of housekeeping, safety and quality within the engineering environment.

Working 4 on 4 off shift rotation, you’ll be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance, electrical fault finding and repairs, while also supporting the wider engineering team with mechanical breakdowns.
