Job summary

Fourway Coaches, a West Yorkshire coach operator, is seeking a full-time Shift Controller in Cleckheaton. You will coordinate daily operations, allocate drivers, schedule vehicles and routes to keep services safe and on time.

You will monitor live operations, manage disruptions, and keep customers informed while maintaining records and ensuring compliance with policies and regulations. This on-site role requires strong planning, clear communication, and a focus on safety.

Qualifications

• Strong operational coordination and planning skills for scheduling and rota management.
• Proficient communication and interpersonal abilities to liaise with drivers, colleagues, and customers.
• Competent with basic IT systems including scheduling software, spreadsheets, and email.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure, prioritise tasks, and make sound decisions in time-sensitive situations.
• Knowledge of passenger transport operations or experience in transport/logistics is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily coach operations and driver allocations.
• Plan vehicle scheduling and route planning to ensure on-time services.
• Monitor live operations and respond to service disruptions.
• Communicate updates to drivers and internal stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate records of shifts, services, and regulatory/compliance data.
• Liaise with customers to handle enquiries about services or schedules.
• Support compliance with company policies and transport regulations.
