Job summary

CER Education is seeking a compassionate Secondary SEND Support Assistant for a specialist school in Sheffield. You will support students with PMLD and complex needs, helping them access learning and develop independence.

Role involves 1:1 and small group support, aiding communication, and assisting with mobility and personal care where needed. A Teaching Assistant qualification or care experience is desirable but not essential.

Secondary SEND Support Assistant (PMLD) – Sheffield

£100-£130 per day | Full Time | Immediate Start

CER Education are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Secondary SEND Support Assistant to join a specialist school in Sheffield. This rewarding role involves supporting students with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD) and complex needs, helping them access learning, develop independence and achieve their full potential.

Responsibilities include providing 1:1 and small group support, assisting with communication and learning activities, supporting mobility needs, and delivering personal care where required. You will work closely with teachers and other professionals to create a safe, engaging and inclusive learning environment.

The ideal candidate will have experience supporting children or young people with SEND, PMLD, complex needs or care needs, alongside excellent communication skills, patience, resilience and a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners. A Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant care experience is desirable but not essential.
