Job summary

Howdens is seeking a Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE) Business Partner for our Raunds warehousing site in Northamptonshire. You will work with senior leaders and operations to shape strategy, drive improvements, and embed a culture where safety is the core value.

You’ll lead expert SHE guidance, support risk assessments, audits and training, and partner with the site team to deliver sustainable safety outcomes within a busy logistics environment.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years’ SHE experience in a fast-paced environment.
• NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety.
• Environmental Management qualification (IEMA).
• Strong knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems.
• Experience delivering health, safety and environmental training.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Drive a positive and proactive safety culture across the site.
• Support the development and delivery of the site’s SHE strategy and annual objectives.
• Provide expert advice on all SHE matters to leaders and colleagues.
• Conduct inspections, audits and reviews to identify risks and drive improvement.
• Monitor SHE performance and ensure compliance with key standards and indicators.
• Support risk assessments, safe systems of work and hazard identification.
• Lead or support incident investigations and corrective actions.
• Design and deliver engaging SHE training and awareness programmes.
• Build strong relationships with regulatory bodies and external stakeholders.
• Oversee occupational health and hygiene monitoring activities.
• Champion Howdens' safety programmes and values across the site.
