Job summary

MJP SOLUTIONS LTD is seeking an experienced Mechanical Construction Manager for a major shaft and infrastructure project in West London. The role is site-focused, delivering mechanical installs while coordinating across disciplines and managing safety, quality and programme progress.

You will oversee mechanical installation activities, coordinate subcontractors and labour, review drawings and RAMS, and ensure works meet project specifications and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience as Mechanical Construction Manager on large or complex projects.
• Strong mechanical installation and construction knowledge.
• Experience coordinating mechanical subcontractors and site teams.
• Solid understanding of safe systems of work and site procedures.

Responsibilities

• Manage mechanical installation activities within the shaft and adjacent areas.
• Coordinate mechanical subcontractors, supervisors and site labour.
• Plan and sequence works to fit the overall construction programme.
• Review drawings, RAMS and installation requirements.
• Coordinate mechanical installs with structural, civil and electrical works.
• Manage site logistics and access for mechanical installations.
• Monitor quality and ensure compliance with specifications.
• Carry out inspections and manage snagging and remedial works.
• Coordinate testing and commissioning activities.
• Attend daily coordination and progress meetings.
• Maintain site records and progress reporting.
• Ensure works comply with health & safety procedures.

An experienced Mechanical Construction Manager is required to oversee mechanical works associated with a major shaft and infrastructure project in West London.

This is a site-focused delivery position requiring a strong Mechanical Construction Manager who is comfortable operating within a complex, safety-critical construction environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage mechanical installation activities within the shaft and associated areas.
• Coordinate mechanical subcontractors, supervisors and site labour.
• Plan and sequence works in line with the overall construction programme.
• Review drawings, specifications, RAMS and installation requirements.
• Coordinate mechanical installations with structural, civil and electrical works.
• Manage site logistics and access requirements associated with mechanical installations.
• Monitor quality and ensure works meet project specifications.
• Carry out inspections and manage snagging and remedial works.
• Coordinate testing and commissioning activities.
• Attend daily coordination and project progress meetings.
• Maintain accurate site records and progress reporting.
• Ensure all works are undertaken in accordance with project health & safety procedures.

Requirements

Candidate Requirements

• Previous Mechanical Construction Manager / Mechanical Site Manager experience.
• Strong mechanical installation and construction knowledge.
• Experience working on large, complex or heavily coordinated construction projects.
• Strong understanding of safe systems of work and construction site procedures.
• Ability to manage subcontractors and drive programme on site.
• Confident interpreting drawings, specifications and technical information.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Experience with shafts, tunnels, rail, infrastructure or other restricted-access environments would be particularly beneficial.

This is an immediate requirement and would suit a hands-on Mechanical Construction Manager accustomed to technically challenging site environments.
