Job summary

East of England Community Health & Care NHS Trust invites applications for a part-time Healthcare Assistant at iCaSH Milton Keynes. You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team supporting contraception and sexual health services, working to put patients first and maintain confidentiality.

After training you may chaperone and assist nurses/doctors during intimate examinations, provide patient information, and support phlebotomy and health promotion events.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and obtain relevant personal and clinical details, treating all information as confidential.
• After training, act as a chaperone and assist nurses/doctors to undertake intimate examinations/procedures and/or sexual health screening.
• Provide information to patients attending the department and to those diagnosed with an STI/HIV or requiring contraception advice, risk reduction guidance and condom demonstrations.
• Provide phlebotomy services for patients attending the services after training.
• Participate in outreach and health promotion events when requested.
• Undertake non-clinical duties to support admin, such as call taking, reception cover (including 0300 number), registering patients and data collection.
• Read, interpret and document microscopy slides as directed by clinicians and communicate findings as required.
• Hold the Care Certificate and deliver associated standards of care or undertake the training promptly on recruitment.
• Adhere to confidentiality, maintain a safe environment, and follow Trust policies and procedures.
