Job summary

East of England Community Health and Care NHS Trust (Cambridgeshire) invites applications for a Band 3 Health Care Assistant in the iCaSH Milton Keynes Sexual Health service. The post is part-time, 24 hours per week with shifts on Tue–Fri and a rotating Saturday, providing flexible working where possible.

You will join a multidisciplinary team, support nursing staff, conduct phlebotomy after training, assist with intimate examinations, provide contraception and health‑promotion advice, and

Qualifications

• Experience of working in a health care environment.
• Experience of working with the public.
• Recent experience in a sexual and reproductive health service or equivalent.
• Safeguarding awareness.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and collect personal and clinical details with confidentiality.
• Assist nurses/doctors with intimate examinations and screenings after training.
• Provide information and contraception/risk reduction advice to patients.
• Provide phlebotomy service after training; participate in outreach and health promotion events.
• Treat all clients non-judgementally; maintain privacy, dignity and confidentiality.
• Undertake non-clinical admin duties including reception and data collection.
• Read and interpret microscopy slides as directed by clinicians and document findings.
• Hold the Care Certificate and pursue required training upon recruitment.
