Job summary

Morgan Hunt is seeking an experienced SMD Support Worker to join a specialist service supporting women experiencing domestic abuse and complex needs. You will manage a caseload of about 10-12 women, deliver tailored one-to-one support and complete risk assessments to inform safety plans.

The role offers flexible 30-hour weeks across four days, with some home-working opportunities and a fixed-term contract until March 2027.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting women affected by domestic abuse or gender-based violence.
• Experience with vulnerable adults experiencing complex needs and multiple disadvantage.
• Understanding of homelessness, mental health, substance misuse and trauma.
• Knowledge of safeguarding adults and children.
• Experience completing risk assessments and developing support and safety plans.
• Empathetic, resilient and confident building relationships with women facing challenging circumstances.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of approximately 10–12 women, delivering tailored one-to-one support.
• Provide specialist domestic abuse support to survivors experiencing complex needs and multiple disadvantage.
• Complete domestic abuse risk assessments, including DASH assessments.
• Develop personalised safety plans and individual support plans.
• Provide emotional support, practical guidance and advocacy.
• Support women to access accommodation, healthcare, mental health and substance misuse services.
• Work alongside safeguarding teams, adult and children's services and other specialist agencies.
• Attend multi-agency meetings, including MARAC and other partnership forums.
• Help women improve their confidence, wellbeing, independence and recovery.

Are you an experienced support professional with a background in domestic abuse, homelessness or complex needs?
We're looking for a compassionate and dedicated SMD Support Worker to join a specialist service supporting women experiencing domestic abuse alongside multiple disadvantage.
You'll be working with women facing some of life's most challenging circumstances, including homelessness, mental health difficulties, substance misuse and involvement with the criminal justice system.
This is a specialist opportunity to provide meaningful, trauma-informed support, helping survivors rebuild their confidence, improve their safety and work towards greater independence.

• Someone empathetic, resilient and confident building relationships with women facing challenging circumstances.

Experience within specialist women's services, domestic abuse organisations or services similar to Anawim would be particularly beneficial.
