Job summary

City of Portsmouth College is seeking a Sessional Personal Tutor to support cohorts of assigned students with effective pastoral guidance. You may deliver weekly Personal Development Curriculum sessions and ensure students progress on their courses toward positive destinations.

The role requires an A Level 3 Award in Education and Training or willingness to undertake, plus experience in post-16 education and delivering instructional sessions.

Qualifications

• A Level 3 Award in Education and Training or willingness to undertake.
• Experience in the post-16 educational sector.
• Experience delivering sessions in an education or training setting.
• Ability to support young people.
• Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
• Computer literate.

Responsibilities

• Tailoring centrally written teaching materials for weekly sessions reflecting the main subject studied by each tutor group.
• Deliver Personal Development Curriculum sessions.
• Monitor progress of each student in allocated cohort using EILP and Progress and Monitoring Points.
• Monitor attendance data of each student in tutorial cohort and address attendance issues.
