Job summary

St Helens College is seeking a Personal Development Tutor to provide pastoral support to a caseload of students and to help them develop personally and academically. You will work closely with subject teachers, parents and other stakeholders to monitor progress and support attendance planning.

The role involves group and 1:1 tutorials, signposting to college services, and guiding students through next steps.

Qualifications

• Provide pastoral support to a caseload of students.
• Develop effective working partnerships with subject teachers, parents/carers and other stakeholders.
• Monitor students' overall performance including attendance and progress, and plan next steps.
• Signpost students to the wider range of services and support available.

Responsibilities

• Undertake group and one-to-one tutorials to review progress against targets.
• Support students' personal development journey across the college.
• Collaborate with staff to ensure safeguarding and welfare across the college.

The role of Personal Development Tutor is to provide pastoral support to a caseload of students. A Personal Development Tutor will develop effective working partnerships with subject teachers, parents/carers and other stakeholders to support students on their personal development journey with the College. A Personal Development Tutor will monitor students' overall performance in college, including progress, attendance planning for next steps and overall personal development. The role will undertake a programme of group and one to one tutorials with each student to review their progress against targets, this includes signposting students, and supporting them to access, the wider range of services and support available through the College.
