Job summary

Loughborough College Group is seeking sessional Learning Support Assistants to join the Learning Support team across our campuses (Brooksby College, Loughborough College, Stephenson College).

You will help students with identified learning needs, provide in-class and online support, notetaking, personal care and mobility assistance as required, and contribute to individual learning programmes in liaison with tutors.

Qualifications

• Level 2 qualification or GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent).

Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for sessional Learning Support Assistants to join our team at Loughborough College Group.

The Learning Support team are seeking to recruit Learning Support Assistants (LSAs), to join them in providing a range of high-quality support to students with identified learning difficulties and/or disabilities anytime across the working week, Monday – Friday 08:45 – 16:30.

We are interested in hearing from individuals who can work at one or multiple of our campus’ (Brooksby College, Loughborough College, Stephenson College).

You will support students across a range of courses from Entry level to Level 3 / A Level who have learning difficulties and disabilities. These include Dyslexia, Autism, ADHD, Hearing Impairments, Visual Impairments and Physical Impairments. The successful candidates will provide in-class support and online support to individuals and groups of students, which includes notetaking, assisting with personal care and mobility support.

Responsibilities of this role include;

• To support students in a sensitive, professional, discrete and confidential manner
• To encourage personal and academic independence, self-empowerment and self-help skills wherever possible
• To contribute to the development of individual learning programmes in liaison with Support Coordinators and course tutors
• To ensure that students are receiving the appropriate level of support and report any issues to the Support Co-ordinators

• You must possess at least a Level 2 qualification, GCSE grade 4 or above (or equivalent) in Maths and English
• You will have a flexible and can-do approach; be committed to teamwork
• Have a positive approach towards all students.
• Excellent communication skills that enable you to work effectively with a range of students and staff.

Successful candidates will have the opportunity to undertake further training where identified.
