Job summary

Loughborough College Group is seeking Sessional Learning Support Assistants to help students at our Brooksby College, Loughborough College, and Stephenson College campuses. The role supports students with identified learning difficulties and/or disabilities across courses, with in-class and online assistance, on casual hours.

You will work 08:45–16:30, Monday–Friday, across campuses, providing notetaking, personal care and mobility support when needed, and reporting concerns to coordinators.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with young people.
• Sound knowledge of safeguarding procedures.
• Excellent communication skills enabling effective interaction with students and staff.
• Flexible, can-do approach with commitment to teamwork.
• Notetaking and basic support tasks may be required.

Responsibilities

• To support students in a sensitive, professional, discreet and confidential manner.
• To encourage personal and academic independence, self-empowerment and self-help skills wherever possible.
• To contribute to the development of individual learning programmes in liaison with Support Coordinators and course tutors.
• To ensure that students are receiving the appropriate level of support and report any issues to the Support Co‑ordinators.

We have an exciting opportunity for sessional Learning Support Assistants to join our team at Loughborough College Group.

The Learning Support team are seeking to recruit Learning Support Assistants (LSAs), to join them in providing a range of high-quality support to students with identified learning difficulties and/or disabilities anytime across the working week, Monday - Friday 08:45 - 16:30.

We are interested in hearing from individuals who can work at one or multiple of our campus' (Brooksby College, Loughborough College, Stephenson College).

You will support students across a range of courses from Entry level to Level 3 / A Level who have learning difficulties and disabilities. These include Dyslexia, Autism, ADHD, Hearing Impairments, Visual Impairments and Physical Impairments. The successful candidates will provide in-class support and online support to individuals and groups of students, which includes notetaking, assisting with personal care and mobility support.

• You must possess at least a Level 2 qualification, GCSE grade 4 or above (or equivalent) in Maths and English

Successful candidates will have the opportunity to undertake further training where identified.
