Job summary

Protyre Autocare is seeking an enthusiastic Service Technician to join our growing team. We are a national automotive company offering superb training and development opportunities.

As a Vehicle Technician you will service and repair vehicles using the latest diagnostic technology to identify issues. Key duties include safe workmanship, fast-fit tyre fitting with alignment readings, fitting brakes, exhausts, batteries, suspension, and MOT repairs, while adhering to vehicle inspection processes.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent automotive qualification.
• Experience with mechanical and fast fit repairs including tyre fitting, brakes, suspension, and servicing.
• Ability to work in a busy team and provide good customer service.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the work on each vehicle is completed safely and to a high standard.
• Perform fast fit tyre fitting with alignment machines and interpret readings.
• Fit brakes, exhausts, batteries, suspension and other mechanical components.
• Carry out MOT repairs and adhere to inspection processes.
• Use diagnostic equipment to ensure thorough testing and repairs.
• Advise on issues and future repair needs based on vehicle condition.
• Work safely and comply with health and safety regulations.

As a Vehicle Technician you are responsible for providing exceptional vehicle servicing and repairs by using latest diagnostic technology and techniques to identify vehicle issues.

• Must have: Full current UK Driving Licence is required for this role, held for at least 6 months (age restrictions may apply – points or offences may affect your application).

About the role:

• Ensure the work completed on each vehicle is carried out safely and to a high standard

• Completing fast fit tyre fitting whilst being able to use an alignment machine and understand the reading and relevant adjustments

• Fitting brakes, exhausts, batteries, suspension and other mechanical products

• Carrying out MOT repairs

• Adherence to company procedures of the vehicle inspection process

• Use relevant diagnostic equipment to ensure diagnostics, testing, and repairs are thorough and to highest quality

• Advise on other issues vehicles display, including common issues vehicles of certain makes and ages develop, and offers timelines for future vehicle repair needs

• Working in a safe manner and always comply with health & safety regulations

About you:

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification related to the Automotive industry

• Experienced with mechanical and fast fit repairs which may include tyre fitting, exhausts, brakes, suspension and general servicing repairs to a wide range of vehicles

• The ability to work as part of a busy team in a fast-paced dynamic environment

• Experience with diagnostic equipment

• Great customer service skills

• Full UK Driving Licence
