Job summary

Provisur is seeking a Service Technician in Shrewsbury to travel to customer sites, service, troubleshoot and install Provisur equipment. You will analyze machine issues, calibrate equipment to meet specs and inspect installations.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in servicing slicing equipment for the food industry, understands mechanical/electrical/hydraulic systems, and can read schematics. A company car and career growth await.

Qualifications

• Vocational education in mechanical and electrical engineering.
• Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to read hydraulic, electrical and motor control schematics.
• 3+ years' experience servicing, repairing and troubleshooting slicing equipment for the food industry.
• Experience using electronic and motor control test equipment.
• Proficient with MS Office and IT basics.
• Knowledge of food processing machinery; slicing equipment a plus.
• Strong interpersonal and customer‑focused communication.
• Willingness for occasional international travel and flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• Install, service and maintain machines at customers' sites, diagnosing and resolving issues.
• Train customer personnel on machine operation, maintenance and safety procedures.
• Evaluate component failures and report probable root causes to Service Management.
• Manage and account for parts, tools and equipment used during service calls.
• Inspect customer equipment and recommend spare parts, retrofit packages and maintenance plans.
• Support product demonstrations and sales activities involving Provisur equipment at customer facilities.

Job description

As a Service Technician, you will travel regularly to customer sites to service, troubleshoot and install Provisur equipment. The ideal candidate will be skilled in the assembly, servicing and installation of most, if not all, equipment and peripherals within their assigned product line(s). You will analyse and resolve machine and food processing-related issues, test and calibrate completed equipment to ensure all components meet product specifications, and carry out final inspections on installed or assembled test equipment.

What You'll Do

• Install, service and maintain machines at customers' sites, including diagnosing and resolving mechanical, electrical and product-related issues.
• Train customer personnel on proper machine operation, maintenance and safety procedures.
• Evaluate component failures and report probable root causes to the Service Management team.
• Manage and account for parts, tools and equipment used during service calls.
• Inspect customer equipment and recommend spare parts, retrofit packages, preventive maintenance plans and machine rebuild programs.
• Support product demonstrations and sales activities involving Provisur equipment at customer facilities.

What You'll Need

• Vocational education in mechanical and electrical engineering (or equivalent qualification).
• Sound understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Familiarity with electronics and microprocessor controls, including the ability to read and interpret hydraulic, electrical and motor control schematics.
• A minimum of three years' experience in servicing, repairing and troubleshooting Slicing Equipment for the food industry.
• Experience using electronic and motor control test equipment.
• IT proficiency, including file upload/download and the use of standard software (e.g. MS Office).
• Basic knowledge of food processing machinery and systems; experience with slicing equipment would be an advantage.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-oriented approach.
• Flexibility for occasional international travel and service assignments and flexibility in work time to serve customers even in after hours and on weekends if necessary.
