Job summary

Octane Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Level 3 qualified Vehicle Technician or a Level 2 with 3+ years’ experience for a role with a leading UK automotive group. The position offers a strong basic salary, overtime, and bonus opportunities, with extensive EV/hybrid training and development.

Applicants must have right to work in the UK and a valid UK driving licence. 45-hour weeks include weekend shifts, with 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays and pension.

Qualifications

• Hands-on workshop experience as a mechanic or technician.
• Ideally within a franchised dealership environment.
• NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent IMI/City & Guilds.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing including oil changes, filter replacements and component updates to manufacturer standards.
• Diagnose and repair faults in braking, steering, suspension and engine systems.
• Complete electronic vehicle health checks (eVHCs) and record findings clearly on job cards.
• Record accurate parts requirements and documents.
• Complete standard warranty repairs following factory protocols and timescales.
• Maintain workshop productivity to meet efficiency and first-time fix targets.

Job description

Vehicle Technician / Mechanic role for a Level 3 qualified Technician, or a Level 2 Technician / Mechanic with at least 3 years’ experience, working with one of the UK’s leading automotive groups on a wide range of vehicles. Excellent salary, benefits, overtime, and bonus opportunities available.

Pay / salary: up to £36,815 basic per annum plus bonus and overtime, OTE £42,000+

Job type: Permanent / full-time role

Shift and schedule: 45 hours per week, including weekends on a rota basis
