Job summary

Octane Recruitment Limited is recruiting a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic in Farnborough. Level 3 qualified Technician, or Level 2 with at least 3 years’ experience, for a leading UK automotive group. Salary up to £40,000 basic plus bonus and overtime; OTE £60,000.

Hours: Mon-Fri 8am-5pm, with 1 in 4 Saturday mornings on a rota. Permanent full-time role with 25 days’ leave plus bank holidays, pension and life assurance, tool insurance, employee discounts, and dedicated EV/hybrid training.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent IMI / City & Guilds qualification).
• Hands-on workshop experience as a mechanic or technician, ideally within a franchised dealership environment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out comprehensive vehicle servicing, including oil changes, filter replacements, and component updates, in line with manufacturer standards.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults across braking, steering, suspension, and basic engine systems.
• Complete thorough Electronic Vehicle Health Checks (eVHCs) to identify and record any work required.
• Record accurate technical findings and parts requirements clearly on digital job cards.
• Complete standard warranty repairs in line with factory protocols and agreed timeframes.
• Maintain high levels of workshop productivity to meet individual efficiency and first-time fix targets.
