Job summary

You Matter seeks a Service Manager to lead the new First Step from the Streets service in Wigan. The role will oversee day-to-day operations, staff supervision, and partnership work to deliver trauma‑informed, safe and stable support for clients experiencing homelessness.

You will work with the Director and Head of Homeless Services to develop the service, ensure KPI targets are met, and prepare for inspections while promoting an inclusive and supportive culture.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with people with multiple and complex needs who have experienced homelessness.
• Leadership experience and ability to manage a team.
• Working knowledge of housing law, health and safety, safeguarding, and care leavers rights.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day operational management of the First Step from the Streets service.
• Develop partnerships with The Brick and other stakeholders to deliver services in Wigan.
• Hold supervision with the team and manage referrals, KPI targets and inspections.
• Lead on staff rota, training needs, and reporting including monthly KPI data.
• Ensure health and safety, maintain service development and respond to changing needs.
