Job summary

Silcom Recruitment have a fantastic opportunity for a Service Manager to join a family run business based in Portsmouth. This role is hands-on, overseeing the service department and covering workshop control during holidays/absences.

You will drive customer service excellence, manage KPI performance (MOT pass rates, breakdowns, reports) and ensure compliance with audits while integrating into all systems and processes across job cards, retail costing, workshop control and parts workflows.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a Service Manager/Workshop Controller role is essential.

Responsibilities

• Cultivate successful business sales, focused on customer service excellence, customer retention, and new business for both Workshop and Parts.
• Operate to achieve high KPI standards, including MOT pass rates, breakdown results, and reports.
• Maintain dealer standards and always ensure compliance with audits.
• Fully integrate into the company's systems and processes, gaining a broad understanding of all aspects, such as job card creation, customer updates, retail costing, workshop control, and parts processes and systems.
• Manage day-to-day workshop activities to ensure productivity, stock control, and quality performance measures are met.
• Increase efficiency, effectiveness, and profitability by managing and engaging the team's productivity and financial target attainments.
• Ensure robust group standardised policies are carried out and adhered to by all staff.
• Identify and implement training needs for all staff, including staff recruitment.
