Cartrefi Cymru Co-operative in Pontypool is seeking a Service Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our support service for people with learning disabilities. You will drive person-centred Active Support, oversee plans, and coach a team to deliver high-quality services.

You’ll build strong relationships with stakeholders, ensure compliance with practice standards, and motivate staff to continually improve outcomes. Weekend and sleep-in shifts apply.

Formación

• Experience supporting people with learning difficulties in a social care setting.
• Level 5 qualification in Health and Social Care (or actively working towards).
• Strong caring nature to support others to live an enriched life and fulfil their potential.
• Effective communication and the ability to influence others.
• Knowledge of the Care Council for Wales Code of Practice.
• Flexibility to work shifts and provide cover as required.
• Access to own car and willing to use it for transporting people; pay 45p per mile for business miles.
• Driver’s licence and willingness to travel for meetings and training.

Role: Service Manager

Come and make a real difference: we’re looking for a Service Manager to help make everyday remarkable for our friendly team in Pontypool.

We are dedicated to supporting those with learning disabilities to live a fulfilled and enriched life in the community, as a Service Manager, you can play a vital role in this.

Location: Pontypool

Hours: 37 Your shift pattern will include weekends and sleep-ins

Salary: £34,416.57paand our sleep-in shifts at £60 per night and our travel expenses is paid 55p per mile

Contract: Permanent

What you’ll be doing:

As Service Manager you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day operation and management of the support service as well as proactively engaging with the continued development of the service. You’ll provide motivational leadership and direction to your team, enabling them to provide quality, person centred support to the people we support. You’ll enjoy building positive relationships with all stakeholders and put our vision and values into action.

You’ll carry out frequent reviews of the support requirements provided, including service delivery plans, support plans, progress log and risk assessments following the principles and practices of person-centred and relationship-centred Active Support. You’ll manage a team of support workers with responsibility for all aspects of team management and development as well as encouraging and coaching them to creatively problem solve and develop.

Above all else your focus will be on achieving the highest levels of support and independence for the people we support to make everyday remarkable.

• experience supporting people with learning difficulties in a social care setting
• Level 5 qualification in Health and Social Care (or actively working towards)
• a strong caring nature to support others to live an enriched life and fulfil their potential

• a working knowledge and understanding of the Care Council for Wales Code of Practice
• flexibility to work shifts and provide cover as required
• access to your own car and happy to use this for transporting people we support to and from activities as well as obtaining business insurance for your vehicle for which we pay 45p per mile to cover this
• a drivers licence and happy to travel for meetings and training.
