Job summary

Cartrefi Cymru Co-operative are recruiting an Assistant Service Manager to support people with learning disabilities in Llandrindod Wells. You’ll work with the Service Manager to provide a safe, caring and supportive daily service, guiding a team and ensuring individual needs are met.

The role requires a Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent), a full driving licence and willingness to travel for meetings. Weekend shifts and sleep-ins are included as part of the rota.

• Experience supporting people with learning difficulties in a social care setting.
• Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or actively working towards).
• Full driving licence - essential and willing to travel for meetings/training.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a safe, caring service for people we support and colleagues.
• Step up to day-to-day running of the service when the Service Manager is absent.
• Provide leadership, monitor performance, conduct one-to-ones and team meetings.

As an Assistant Service Manager, you’ll play a vital role in making this happen — supporting a great team and helping the people we support to live life on their own terms.

Role:Assistant Service Manager

Location:Llandrindod Wells

Hours:Your shift pattern will include weekends and sleep-ins

Salary:£29,149.91pa and our sleep-in shifts at £60 per night and our travel expenses is paid 55p per mile

Contract:Permanent

What you’ll be doing:

In this role, you’ll work closely alongside the Service Manager to help create a safe, caring and supportive service for both the people we support and our colleagues. You’ll be a visible and hands-on presence in the day-to-day running of the service, providing support and carrying out duties that reflect the individual needs and requirements of the people we support.

You’ll work shifts on a rota basis, which may include sleep-ins. When the Service Manager is absent, you’ll step up to take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the service. This is an opportunity to lead from the front — providing leadership and management to the team, monitoring performance, carrying out one-to-ones and appraisals, and bringing colleagues together through team meetings.

• experience supporting people with learning difficulties in a social care setting
• Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or actively working towards)
• a strong caring nature to support others to live an enriched life and fulfil their potential
• a working knowledge and understanding of the Care Council for Wales Code of Practice
• flexibility to work shifts and provide cover as required
• afull driving licence - essential and happy to travel for meetings and training
• access to your own car and happy to use this for transporting people we support to and from activities as well as obtaining business insurance for your vehicle for which we pay 55p per mile to cover this
