Job summary

Trapeze Recruitment Services Ltd is seeking a Mobile Service Engineer to install, maintain and repair vacuum packaging machinery and slicers at customer sites across the UK. You will conduct inspections, perform repairs in workshop when needed, and document all service activities with accuracy.

Ideal candidates will have hands-on mechanical skills, experience with 230V and 440V systems, and strong problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications

• Experience with single-phase 230V and three-phase 440V electrical systems.
• Strong hands-on mechanical maintenance, repair and refurbishment of machinery.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical faults efficiently.
• Experience in packaging, food processing or similar industrial machinery is advantageous.
• Confident with communicating technical details to customers on-site.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair equipment at customer sites – vacuum packaging machinery and tabletop slicers.
• Repair and refurbish equipment in the workshop and perform preventive maintenance.
• Conduct regular inspections and service activities and document them accurately.
• Troubleshoot issues and provide effective solutions in a timely manner.
• Provide training and support to customers on equipment use.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to improve product performance.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations on-site.

Our client is a fast growing, service-based company supporting the butchery, hospitality, packaging, processing, and medical sectors across the UK. They provide engineering support, servicing, breakdowns and equipment solutions for food-related operations.

If you’re passionate about engineering, enjoy working in a hands-on environment, and have experience working with both single-phase (230V) and three-phase (440V) power supplies, we’d love to hear from you.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the business at a key stage of its growth and development.

Working hours are Monday to Friday, 07:00 – 16:00, including a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.

A company van, fuel card, tools and equipment and in-house training and development is provided.

Responsibilities of Mobile Service Engineer

• Repair and refurbish equipment in the workshop.
• Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance on machinery.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and provide effective solutions in a timely manner.
• Provide training and support to customers on the proper use of equipment.
• Document all service activities and maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance performed.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to improve product performance based on field feedback.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations while on-site.
