Job summary

Ernest Gordon Recruitment Limited in Maidstone is seeking a Junior Service Engineer (Mechanical / Electrical) to join a growing team. You will receive internal training shadowing experienced engineers and a clear progression path to a fully-fledged Service Engineer.

Based in Maidstone with a local patch across the Southeast, you will service, maintain and repair vacuum packaging machinery and tabletop slicers at customer sites, with workshop refurbishments as needed.

Qualifications

• Junior/Trainee Service Engineer from a mechanical or electrical background.
• Internal training shadowing experienced engineers.
• Clear progression to a fully-fledged Service Engineer.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out the servicing, maintenance and repair of a wide range of food production machinery at customer sites.
• In the workshop performing repairs and refurbishments.
• Ongoing training through shadowing experienced Engineers.
• Covering a local patch across the Southeast.
• Monday to Friday 7am - 4pm, 1-in-5 on-call rota.

Are you a Junior/Trainee Service Engineer from a mechanical or electrical background, looking for full internal training shadowing experienced engineers, and clear progression to a fully-fledged Service Engineer?

In this role, you will be responsible for covering a local patch, carrying out the installation, servicing, maintenance and repair of vacuum packaging machinery and tabletop slicers at customer sites. You will also work in the workshop repairing and refurbishing equipment, while troubleshooting technical issues and providing effective solutions to customers.

This role would suit someone with a Mechanical or Electrical background, perhaps with an HNC, HND, or NVQ, looking for a role in a new, growing company that offers clear progression into a Multi Skilled Engineer role.

The Role:
