Job summary

British Red Cross in Gloucester is seeking a Service Coordinator to bridge hospital referrals with home care. You will lead a team of staff and volunteers, ensuring services are delivered safely, efficiently and with compassion. The role supports people moving from hospital to home with dignity.

The position requires a flexible approach, with shifts including evenings and on-call duties, and a full driving licence with access to a vehicle. Applications close on 30th August 2026.

Responsibilities

Service Coordinator - Assisted Discharge

Location: Gloucester Hospital, GL1 3NN

Salary: £25,541 to £27,200 per annum, pro rata

Hours: 24 per week

Contract: Permanent

Additional Requirement: Applicants must have a full licence (2 years) and access to a vehicle.

As a Service Coordinator, you’ll be the vital link between hospital referrals and care at home. What will a day in the life of a Service Coordinator involve?
  • Acting as the main point of contact for hospital and community referrals.
