Job summary

GM Performance Power Units in Bristol seeks an experienced Sensor Actuator Assurance Engineer to verify and validate sensors and actuators used in PU control systems.

The role supports lab and track operations, ensuring devices meet performance and safety requirements throughout their lifecycle. Strong background in motorsport electronics and data analysis is essential, with collaboration across engineering teams and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience working with electronics in a motorsport/high-performance environment.
• Experience managing and maintaining mission-critical devices.
• Strong understanding of physics and operating principles of sensors and actuators.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with MATLAB and statistical analysis tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop test methods and procedures aligned with manufacturer recommendations and industry standards to assess sensor and actuator reliability.
• Design protective storage solutions and handling/installation procedures to preserve device integrity.
• Create and execute non-destructive evaluation methods and maintain complete records of results.
• Collaborate with Data Analysis and PLM teams to correlate device usage with reliability outcomes.
• Support sensor/actuator selection for PU applications with engineering teams.
• Execute assurance testing; document results and produce statistical reports on fleet condition.
• Engage suppliers on performance issues and supply chain concerns.
