Job summary

GM Performance Power Units in Telford, UK, seeks a Sensor Actuator Assurance Engineer todevelop and sustain methods ensuring sensors and actuators used in PU control systems meet performance and safety standards throughout their lifecycle, in lab and track environments.

You will design tests, support component selection with engineering teams, and document results while working with suppliers on performance and reliability—driving race-ready reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical engineering or related field.
• 3+ years in electronics for motorsport/high-performance environments.
• Experience managing mission-critical devices.
• Strong understanding of sensors and actuators physics.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; MATLAB and statistical tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop test methods aligned with standards to assess sensor/actuator reliability.
• Design protective storage and handling procedures.
• Create and execute non-destructive evaluation methods and maintain records.
• Collaborate with Data Analysis and PLM to correlate usage with reliability.
• Support sensor/actuator selection with Electronics Systems Engineering and PU Design.
• Execute assurance testing and produce fleet condition reports.
• Engage suppliers on performance and supply chain concerns.
