Job summary

GM Performance Power Units in Guildford seeks a Sensor Actuator Assurance Engineer to develop and maintain methods to verify sensors and actuators in PU control systems. You will work across lab and track operations to ensure devices meet performance and safety requirements throughout their lifecycle.

Responsibilities include designing test methods, protective handling procedures, recording evaluation results, and collaborating with Data Analysis and PLM to link usage to reliability.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years working with electronics in motorsport or high-performance environments.
• Experience managing and maintaining mission-critical devices.
• Strong understanding of sensor and actuator physics and operation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with MATLAB and statistical tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop test methods aligned with standards and PU use cases.
• Design protective storage and handling procedures.
• Create non-destructive evaluation methods and maintain records.
• Collaborate with Data Analysis and PLM to relate usage to reliability.
• Support sensor/actuator selection with Engineering and PU Design.
• Execute tests and produce statistical fleet reports.
• Engage suppliers on performance and supply chain concerns.
