Job summary

GM Performance Power Units is seeking a Sensor Actuator Assurance Engineer in Dartford, UK. The role focuses on verifying the accuracy, reliability, and service-worthiness of sensors and actuators used in PU control systems across lab and track operations.

You will develop test methods, implement handling procedures, and maintain records, while collaborating with Data Analysis and PU Design teams to ensure performance and safety throughout components’ lifecycles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 3+ years working with electronics in motorsport or high-performance settings.
• Proven experience managing and maintaining mission-critical devices.
• Strong understanding of sensor/actuator physics and operation.
• Proficiency with MATLAB and basic statistical analysis.

Responsibilities

• Develop test methods and procedures aligned with standards for sensors and actuators.
• Design protective storage and installation procedures to preserve device integrity.
• Create documented evaluation methods and maintain complete records.
• Correlate device usage with reliability outcomes with Data Analysis teams.
• Support sensor/actuator selection with Engineers and PU Design.
• Execute assurance testing and produce statistical fleet reports.
• Engage with suppliers on performance issues and supply chain concerns.
