Job summary

TWI Ltd in Cambridge is seeking an experienced Welding Engineer to apply expertise across defence, energy, manufacturing and infrastructure.

The role combines technical consultancy, project delivery and technology development, including welding process qualification, robotics and additive manufacturing, with a hybrid on-site pattern.

Some roles may require security clearance; travel in the UK and abroad may be required.

Qualifications

• Degree-level engineering qualification in a relevant discipline.
• Diploma or certification such as EWF/IIW Welding Engineer Diploma (or equivalent).
• Extensive industrial experience in welding engineering.
• Knowledge of arc welding processes and deployment.
• Experience with robotics or additive manufacturing is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert welding engineering advice to industrial clients.
• Plan and manage projects to technical, commercial and quality targets.
• Develop and validate welding and additive manufacturing processes.
• Support site-based activities and engage cross-disciplinary teams.
• Build and sustain customer relationships and identify project opportunities.
