Job summary

WSP is seeking a Senior or Principal Transport Planner to join the Passenger Transit Group in the UK. The role spans multiple offices (Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds, Liverpool, London, Manchester) with hybrid working, enabling a mix of in-office and home working.

You will lead and contribute to diverse projects across the UK, applying your expertise in passenger transit and mobility planning, transport data analysis, and client engagement to deliver high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience in passenger transit and mobility planning.
• Understanding of regulatory and legislative environment for passenger transit services.
• Excellent report writing and verbal communication skills.
• Experience leading workstreams or projects in passenger transit.
• Strong project management skills across transport and multi-disciplinary projects.
• Creative, innovative mindset and a desire to develop your career.

Responsibilities

• Lead or contribute to a range of technical and commercial projects and proposals.
• Deliver high quality outputs in line with client requirements.
• Build relationships and secure/deliver work for local clients.
• Lead technical reviews and check deliverables within the team.
• Mentor junior team members or support People Manager duties.
• Oversee financial performance of projects and the team.
• Contribute to WSP pillars: People, Clients & Growth, Operations, Expertise.
