Job summary

WSP is recruiting a Senior or Principal Transport Planner to join the Passenger Transit Group in the UK. The role supports multi-disciplinary teams across the UK with a blend of in-office and home working.

You’ll lead transit schemes from concept to delivery and build relationships with Local Authorities and clients. The position offers opportunities for career progression within a national team, with exposure to Net Zero and Future Mobility initiatives.

Qualifications

• Experience in passenger transit and mobility planning.
• Understanding of regulatory environment for passenger transit services.
• Excellent report writing and verbal communication skills.
• Experience leading workstreams or projects.
• Project management skills across transport and multi-disciplinary projects.
• Creative and innovative mindset.

Responsibilities

• Lead or contribute to a variety of transit projects from inception through to delivery.
• Provide technical and commercial inputs and deliver high-quality outputs.
• Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and collaborate across service lines.
• Build relationships and secure work for local clients.
• Lead technical reviews and checks of deliverables within the team.
• Mentor junior team members and support their development.
• Oversee project financial performance and team performance.
