Job summary

Arriva Group in Leeds is seeking a Driver Team Manager to lead our driver cohort, ensure safety and high performance standards, and drive service reliability. The role combines hands-on leadership with strategic oversight of daily operations.

You will coach and mentor drivers, manage scheduling, handle safety and performance issues, and be on-call for disruptions, with a focus on maintaining customer service and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Must be a Fully Qualified Train Driver with at least 5 years' experience.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Sound understanding of on-train safety and railway operations.
• Experience in budget management desirable.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Driver team to meet safety and performance standards.
• Coach, motivate and develop team members' strengths.
• Be first point of contact for safety or performance issues.
• Oversee on-call, out-of-hours duties and disruption support.
• Report writing and investigations as required.
• Manage shifts and liaise with external suppliers.
