Job summary

Arriva is seeking an Assistant Driver Manager to lead our team of bus drivers, drive safe and reliable service, and deliver outstanding customer experiences across the depot. You will coach, mentor, schedule shifts, manage attendance, and ensure compliance with tachograph and driving hours rules while collaborating with engineering and customer service.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising in bus/transport or related field.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Understanding of PCV/HGV regulations and transport legislation.

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate, and develop a team of bus drivers to safety, reliability, and customer service.
• Oversee driver rotas, shift allocation, and holiday planning.
• Conduct performance reviews, coaching sessions, and return-to-work interviews.
• Support driver development through training and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Manage driver attendance, performance, conduct, and wellbeing in line with company policies.
• Ensure compliance with transport legislation, tachograph regulations, and driving hours rules.
• Monitor KPIs such as punctuality, safety, and customer feedback.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and customer service teams for depot performance.
• Champion health and safety culture across the operation.
