Job summary

Taylor Higson is recruiting a field-based Sales Manager to drive new business and account growth across the North East and Yorkshire. You will manage a regional external sales team, build pipelines, and work closely with internal functions to deliver customer value.

The successful candidate will have five years’ corrugated packaging sales experience, leadership exposure, and a full UK driving licence; based within 60–90 minutes of Hartlepool with regular travel to client sites.

Qualifications

• At least five years’ experience selling corrugated packaging.
• Proven record of winning new business and growing existing accounts.
• Previous team leadership, coaching or people-management experience.
• Experience selling into FMCG, food & beverage, pharmaceutical, industrial, manufacturing or e-commerce markets.
• Based within 60–90 minutes of Hartlepool with a full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Develop new business across the regional territory.
• Build a credible pipeline of high-value corrugated packaging opportunities.
• Manage and grow a portfolio of existing customer accounts.
• Develop relationships with purchasing managers and senior commercial decision-makers.
• Understand customers’ packaging, operational and supply-chain requirements.
• Work closely with internal commercial, design, customer service and manufacturing teams.
• Produce accurate forecasts and maintain detailed CRM records.
• Follow the company’s structured sales process from initial opportunity through to delivery.
• Identify opportunities that can be supported by the wider manufacturing group.
• Progressively coach and manage the external sales team.
• Help establish team targets, monitor performance and support individual development.
• Contribute to the future growth and structure of the regional sales operation.
