Job summary

ManpowerGroup in Reading seeks a Telecoms Engineering Lead to provide technical leadership on a major project, overseeing telecoms design from concept to handover. The role requires ensuring high standards of performance, reliability, security, and regulatory compliance across the project lifecycle.

You will lead engineering teams and contractors, set project standards, and drive value by adopting emerging telecoms technologies while coordinating with digital strategy initiatives.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in telecommunications engineering within large projects.
• Strong knowledge of fibre optic and wireless systems.
• Experience developing technical specifications and engineering standards.
• Understanding of telecom security, monitoring, and regulatory requirements.
• Proven governance and assurance throughout project lifecycles.
• Contractor/vendor management including bid evaluations.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead telecoms design assurance across all project phases.
• Develop and maintain project telecoms standards and regulatory alignment.
• Optimise standards for scalable, cost-efficient solutions.
• Provide technical oversight for contractor-led design activities.
• Participate in bid evaluations and vendor selection.
• Ensure QA across design, procurement and delivery stages.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to resolve issues.
