Job summary

Manpower Group (UK) is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineering Lead in Reading to provide technical leadership across design, engineering, and assurance of electrical systems for a major capital project. The role is office-based with occasional home working, full-time 37.5 hours per week, and a 12-month contract with potential extension.

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years of relevant electrical engineering experience with leadership roles.
• Deep understanding of electrical power generation, distribution, protection, and control systems.
• Experience in power system protection schemes and fault analysis.
• Hands-on knowledge of engineering tools and software used in electrical design and analysis.
• Experience developing engineering standards and design philosophies.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for design, implementation, and optimization of electrical systems across the project lifecycle.
• Ensure designs comply with project standards and international codes (IEEE, IEC, NERC).
• Review and validate protection strategies and fault studies to maximise uptime.
• Oversee contractor-led electrical design activities and ensure high-quality outputs.
• Support risk assessments, design reviews, and system modelling activities.
