The School of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering (CSEE) is a large and dynamic department in the Faculty of Science and Health. The School is internationally recognised for its research in robotics, communications, artificial intelligence and related fields, and offers its students an excellent education. We are seeking two highly motivated individuals to join our dedicated technical team in the newly created role of Senior Technician (Grade 6).
As part of the core technical team, you will contribute to the smooth running of the School\'s teaching, research, and operational activities. This includes supporting undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, student projects, research projects, teaching and research equipment, infrastructure upkeep, health and safety compliance, and equipment maintenance. A key part of the role is to provide technical support to research groups, some of which are expanding rapidly and require dedicated points of contact.
Applicants must possess sound and adaptable technical knowledge relevant to the support of research groups and infrastructure within the School. This includes the ability to engage with evolving technologies and support a wide range of technical requirements across diverse teaching and research environments. This should include the ability to program in one or more languages, such as Python or C++, and detailed knowledge of technical areas related to the role. Candidates should be able to demonstrate complex specialist tasks and procedures to students with varying levels of competency and background.
