Job summary

Barker Ross Group is seeking an experienced Sales Manager / Technical Sales Manager to lead business development and provide technical sales support within the mechanised irrigation and water management sector in the UK. You will own opportunities from enquiry through to specification, quotation, order, delivery and commissioning.

The role combines commercial drive with strong technical understanding, requiring field-based support, product knowledge updates, and ongoing relationship management

Qualifications

• 5+ years of sales experience in irrigation, agricultural engineering, water systems, pumps or related sector.
• Proven track record of generating sales and delivering revenue targets.
• Experience specifying and delivering technical products or systems in real-world settings.
• Practical understanding of irrigation systems across soils, crops and conditions.
• Knowledge of flow, pressure, hydraulics and pump selection.
• Willingness to travel extensively within the UK and Europe.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of sales performance, revenue growth and targets.
• Identify and convert new business opportunities across the UK and Europe.
• Develop key accounts, tenders, partnerships and dealer/distributor opportunities.
• Build and manage a strong sales pipeline from enquiry to order.
• Provide regular forecasts, pipeline updates and market intelligence to senior management.
• Visit customer sites to assess requirements and specify complete irrigation solutions.
• Attend to commissioning, field support and customer training where needed.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, marketing and service teams to ensure seamless delivery and support.
