Job summary

Yolk Recruitment is seeking a Technical Author to own the creation and maintenance of technical and operational documentation across a broad IT estate. You’ll work with engineers and senior stakeholders, translating complex concepts into clear content and establishing documentation standards.

A hybrid role in South Wales, involving collaboration across cloud and on‑prem environments, Azure, and Microsoft 365 services. You’ll influence documentation quality and accessibility across teams.

Qualifications

• Proven experience creating and maintaining technical documentation across IT services.
• Ability to translate complex technical information into clear, user-friendly content.
• Comfort working with engineers and technical specialists to extract information.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain technical documentation, system guides, processes, specifications and operational docs.
• Work with technical teams to understand complex systems and processes.
• Translate technical information into accessible content for varied audiences.
• Establish and maintain documentation standards, style guidelines and best practices.
• Review and improve existing documentation using feedback and stakeholder input.
• Manage documentation with version control and track changes.
• Edit and proofread to maintain high standards.
• Identify opportunities to improve documentation creation, management and access.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across teams and senior management.
