Yolk Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Technical Author to own the creation, improvement and maintenance of technical and operational documentation across a broad IT estate in a hybrid South Wales environment.

The role involves turning complex information into clear, useful documentation, collaborating with engineers and subject matter experts to ensure accuracy and accessibility for diverse audiences across IT services and environments.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Technical Author, Technical Writer or in a similar role.
• Comfortable working with engineers and technical specialists to extract information for accurate documentation.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain high-quality technical documentation across IT services and environments.
• Produce technical documentation, system guides, processes, specifications and operational documentation.
• Work with technical teams to understand complex systems and translate into accessible content.
• Establish and maintain documentation standards, style guidelines and best practices.
• Review and improve existing documentation using feedback, tickets and stakeholder input.
• Manage documentation through version control and align with system changes.
• Edit and proofread to maintain high standards.
• Identify opportunities to improve how documentation is created, managed and accessed.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across technical teams, operations and senior management.
