Job summary

Wales & West Utilities Limited is seeking a skilled Technical Author to join the expanding Technical Operations team. You will create and maintain operational and maintenance documents across IT environments, collaborating with engineers, SMEs and stakeholders to produce clear, accurate content that supports efficient IT service delivery.

Qualifications

• Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• In-depth experience as a Technical Author or in a similar role, producing technical and user focused documentation for IT systems and services.
• Proficiency with collaboration, versioning and documentation tools, including Microsoft 365, SharePoint Online, Git, GitHub, Azure DevOps and Confluence.
• Proven experience in technical writing, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation

Responsibilities

• Establish and follow content style and usage guidelines. Produce comprehensive and high-quality documentation across systems and platforms.
• Improve documentation through feedback analysis from internal teams and support partners.
• Gather detailed information from technical teams, SMEs and stakeholders to ensure content accuracy.
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase quality and accessibility of technical documentation.
